NHS nominates Donald Kennedy for EHI Healthcare IT Champion of the Year award – vote now

Our managing director Donald Kennedy is very proud to have been nominated for this year’s Healthcare IT Champion of the Year, the special category at the EHI Awards 2014.

He is one of 20 nominees who have been selected for their commitment to promoting healthcare IT in the NHS.

Donald has been put forward after working closely with nurses and doctors to help them introduce IT that will support their patient safety initiatives and deliver measurable sustainable benefits.

Commenting, he said: “It is really very humbling that an individual in the NHS felt strongly enough to make the nomination. I feel honoured to be considered for this award alongside people who go to great lengths to improve healthcare by making the most of innovative IT.”

Donald was nominated for being a passionate individual who cares about delivering quality into the NHS and who promotes the benefits of the NHS working closely with UK companies. He works with the NHS to understand priorities, and with trusts to understand their individual needs so that the company’s Patientrack solution can be used to greatest effect – delivering improved patient outcomes, and relieving pressure on frontline staff by creating real time electronic charts, automatically calculating early warning scores and alerting clinicians when interventions are needed.

Voting is now open for the first round of the award and you can vote for Donald here

About Patientrack
Patientrack helps hospitals deliver safer care – which is also more cost-effective care – by ensuring observation and assessment protocols are carried out correctly and consistently, and by automatically calculating early warning scores and alerting clinicians when interventions are needed. Through early identification of deteriorating patients, and the promoting of necessary assessments, Patientrack helps hospitals meet national and local targets for improvements in patient safety, improving patient outcomes and supporting frontline staff, while at the same time cutting costs. Patientrack was developed in conjunction with health professionals and its effectiveness in delivering both patient safety and cost improvements has been proven in a peer-reviewed clinical trial at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
