Expertise and experience
Patientrack is the result of our understanding of the need to improve ward and hospital processes in order to reduce the number and impact of adverse events in hospitals.
Company founder Associate Professor Dr Michael Buist was determined to find a way to improve on the manual systems of identifying patients at risk of suffering adverse events and eliciting medical responses. He concluded that technology can make a significant difference in ensuring that patients receive the care they need when they need it, from the clinicians best able to provide it.
Working with a management team that combines extensive ICT, consulting and financial expertise, Michael developed the Patientrack system as a solution that can easily be customised to match the requirements, ward processes and technology infrastructures of any hospital.
Trial results
Trialled first in the UK, at the Central Manchester University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT), Patientrack has been independently assessed with impressive results. Through early detection of deteriorating patients the hospital saw significant reductions in mortality rates, average length of patient stay and unscheduled admission rates to intensive care.
As a result of the successful trial, the trust is implementing Patientrack in all adult and children’s wards.
Patientrack is now available to any hospital committed to quality, innovation, productivity and prevention (QIPP) in the delivery of patient care and the improvement of hospital efficiency.
